Behavior Specialist
Issaquah School District

(425) 837-7109

A product of two Issaquah school teachers, I seem to have followed in my parents’ footsteps to some degree.  I have grown up in Issaquah and graduated from Issaquah High in 1992.  My father taught at Issaquah High for 33 years, and my Mom is a current Tiger Mountain teacher in the special education department.  I don’t actually have a classroom; I have the privilege of getting to know students at several of the district’s secondary schools, including Tiger.

After graduating from Issaquah High, I attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California.  I graduated with majors in Spanish and Sociology in 1996, and later received my Master of Social Work degree from the UW in 1999.  I went to work as a counselor at Echo Glen Children’s Center for nine years, and then came to the district as a Behavior Specialist.  I have been here in this role since December of the  2004-5 school year.

As a Behavior Specialist, I have the privilege of connecting with students and collaborating with teams at five schools.

My favorite things to do include laughing, spending time with my friends and family, reading, listening to music, and watching movies.  Some things that are important to me include my family, including my fabulous nephew that I love, my church family, and a poorly trained lab named Rocky who needs to go to obedience class.
